A Place Called Home

Dedicated to the family of Ericka Rutledge

By Richard McGee, Contributing Writer

Monday, October 17, 2005

I know how you feel.

I’ve suffered through loss too.

You will get through the pain

Cause He will see you through.

Just think of your loss

As a gift to someone else.

Never ever grow weary. You’re never by yourself.

We’re all here until our job is done,

Then he brings us home, one by one.

You’ll be down for a while,

But you’ll get back into the groove.

Remember, she’s right beside you,

Watching your every move.

Smile. Hold your head up.

We will meet again.

It will be one big family reunion

Full of loved ones and friends.

So don’t cry. Let’s celebrate cause we’re never alone.

There’s just a bigger and better place that she now calls home.

In memory of Ericka.

— Richard McGee.
